Friday, July 20th, 2018 is the last business day of Great Southern Bank in Fort Calhoun.
The Fort Calhoun bank will be closed on Saturday, July 21st for system conversion and will open as Washington County Bank on Monday, July 23rd.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO ON JULY 23rd, 2018:
Q: Will my account number change?
A: Yes, you will receive your new account number in the mail.
Q: Do I need to come in and open a Washington County Bank account?
A: No, your account will automatically transfer to a Washington County Bank account.
Q: Will my deposits still be FDIC insured?
A: Yes, up to $250,000. If your total deposits with the combined banks exceed $250,000 after the acquisition, please see a personal banker who will help you structure account ownership for maximum insurance protection. There are special rules for bank acquisitions to allow depositors time to review their deposit insurance coverage. These rules provide for a customer's deposits to be considered separately insured for at least six months.
Q: Will there be fee increases?
A: You will not see many changes in this area. Please reference the Fees & Services Disclosure that was mailed to you.
Automatic Deductions & Payments
Q: Will my direct deposit, Social Security, or automatic payments be returned?
A: Your routing number will change to 104913161 effective July 21st, 2018. Great Southern Bank will forward all ACH deposits and/or payments to Washington County Bank for a period of time following the July 20th, 2018 acquisition. To avoid disruption in your service, it is recommended to update anyone originating ACH deposits and payments to your account with your new routing number (104913161) and Bank name (Washington County Bank) on or after July 21st, 2018. Providing updated routing information prior to this date may result in credits or debits to your account being returned.
Q: What should I do with my Debit/ATM card?
A: We will be sending you a NEW Washington County Bank ATM/Debit Card in the mail. Watch for a plain white envelope. Your Great Southern Bank Debit Card will be terminated at approximately 12:01am on July 23rd, 2018. Please begin using your Washington County Bank Debit Card at that time. Activate your new WCB card by calling the number on the card sticker.
Online Banking & BillPay, Telephone Banking
Q: Where will I go to log on to Online Banking? Will I have to set-up my online Bill Pay payees again?
A: Starting on Monday, July 23rd, you may enroll in online banking at washingtoncountybank.com for online access to your account. Your existing Bill Pay information will not transfer to Washington County Bank. We recommend printing your current list of payees, scheduled payments and/or history prior to July 20th, 2018 to assist you in reentering your payees. Once you are enrolled in WCB's online banking and have activated our free BillPay service, you will be able to set up your payees. Please call us at 402.426.2111 for assistance.
Q: Will my 24 Hour Telephone Banking number change?
A: Effective July 23rd, 2018, you may access your accounts 24 hours a day by calling 402.426.8000. For assistance, please call 402.426.2111.
Q: How do I enroll for Mobile Banking?
A: You will first need to enroll for Online Banking at washingtoncountybank.com. Once that step has been finished, you may enroll with Mobile Banking. Just search for "Washington County Bank" in the Google Play or Apple App Store.
Q: Will your bank hours change?
A: Your Fort Calhoun bank hours will not change. In addition, you may begin using the Blair and Tekamah locations of Washington County Bank on July 23rd. Starting Monday, July 23rd, you will have access to hundreds of ATMs.
Q: Will the staff remain the same?
A: Yes, you can look forward to the same great staff and superior service.
Q: Will the ATM at the bank branch be available?
A: The ATM at the Fort Calhoun branch location will close at 4:30pm on Friday, July 20th and will become available on Tuesday, July 24th. ATMs owned by both Great Southern Bank and Washington County Bank will be available to you during this transition weekend without added fees.
Q: Will the phone number to the bank be changing in Fort Calhoun?
A: You may continue to call bank using the same phone number, 402.468.5411.
Q: What happens to my certificates of deposit or IRA?
A: Washington County Bank will honor the existing terms on your Certificates of Deposits (CDs) until maturity of your current term. Interest on CDs will accrue and compound quarterly.
Q: Will I have to buy new checks?
A: New Washington County Bank checks are being mailed to you. You may begin using your new WCB checks starting on Monday, July 23rd, 2018. If you have not received your new Washington County Bank checks by this time, please contact us at 402.426.2111.
Q: Will my overdraft line of credit still work?
A: Overdraft lines of credit do not transfer over to Washington County Bank automatically. Please contact us at 402.426.2111 to have this service set up for your new account(s).
Q: I have overdraft protection coverage, will this service continue?
A: Overdraft Privilege coverage for Visa® Debit Card and ATM transactions does not transfer to WCB automatically. Please contact us at 402.426.2111 to have this service set up for your new account(s).
Q: When will I receive my statements?
A: Great Southern Bank will generate statements and pay accrued interest for all checking and savings accounts on July 20th, 2018. Future WCB personal account statements will be generated on the 20th of each month. If you are currently enrolled in Paperless Statements with Great Southern Bank and would like to retain copies of previous statements, we recommend downloading them prior to July 20th, 2018.
Q: How do I sign up for Paperless Statements?
A: If you would like to enroll in Paperless Statements with WCB, you will find this option within online banking which will be available to you on Monday, July 23rd, 2018 at washingtoncountybank.com.
Q: Where do I send my loan payments?
A: Please continue to make your payments as usual to Great Southern Bank.
