Online Check Imaging

When will check images be available online?

Images are available online to all personal account holders May 1st, but only checks cleared after April 1st will be viewable.

How will Check Imaging benefit me?

You will have increased access to your checks because they will be viewable online at www.washingtoncountybank.com. The front and back of checks will be viewable as soon as they clear, eliminating the need to wait for monthly statements. Check images can also be printed and enlarged for easier viewing. Plus, check imaging will reduce the bulk of monthly statements by replacing the physical checks you may currently be receiving with images printed on standard-sized paper, making storage more convenient.

Why is WCB moving to check imaging?

There are two significant reasons why it makes sense to move to check imaging. First, check imaging provides a new convenience for customers. Checks will be viewable online anytime, anyplace. Second, due to the signing of Check 21 legislation we cannot guarantee the return of original items. Because of this, we anticipate an industry-wide shift to check imaging. For more information about Check 21 go to www.eccho.com/PDFs/Check_21_FAQ.pdf.

How soon after writing a check, will it be viewable online?

Check images can be viewed once they have cleared your account. You do not need to wait for your statement to view the check image.

Will I be able to view my checks securely online?

Yes. The safety of your records is of the utmost importance to us. Online check images are only available through our secure transaction area using the User ID and Password known only by you. The Washington County Bank website adheres to the strictest security standards to protect your privacy and identity.

How long will each check image be available online?

Check images will be available online for up to two months after they have come out in your monthly statement. In addition, all checks that have cleared during your current statement cycle will be available.

How do I sign up for online check imaging?

By enrolling your deposit account online, you are automatically signed up to receive your check images online. To view them, go to the Account Detail page within the View Accounts section.

Are check images acceptable as legal documents?

Yes. Online check images are accepted as valid proof of payment by local, state and federal branches of government. They are also accepted by the IRS and the courts.

When will I receive my first images in my monthly statement?

If you are currently receiving original checks, your first check images will be mailed in your May statement. There will be no interruption in service due to check imaging, so your statement will arrive at its usual time.

Will my monthly statement change?

No. Your statement will not change. You will only notice the absence of original checks, which will be replaced by paper images.

What will my check images look like in my statement?

If you currently receive original checks, they will be replaced with images appearing on sheets of letter-sized paper in your statement. There will be 10 images on the front and back of each sheet of paper. Only the front of your checks will appear in your statement. However, you can view both sides of each check online at www.washingtoncountybank.com.

What if I need a past statement reprinted? Can I still get my images?

Yes. Check imaging gives Washington County Bank advanced capabilities to conduct research on your account and reprint past statements and check images.
