- Small Ship Columbia & Snake River Cruise
-
|
Heritage Club members, boarded a 125’ ship – the Island Spirit - in June of 2008. The route followed the trail of Lewis & Clark across Washington to Oregon, with spectacular views of Mt. St. Helens, the Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood. Ports of call included Astoria, Hood River, and Pendleton in Oregon; Cascade Locks, St. Helens and Clarkston in Washington. The ship cruised during the day while evenings were spent dockside in cozy riverfront towns or anchored in quiet backwaters. This intimate style of cruising provided a comfortable atmosphere with casual elegance and superb service by the staff. Their onboard chef made meal time aboard the Island Spirit every bit as memorable as the sights & excursions throughout the cruise!

- Celebrate Spring with an Ice Cream & Saints tour!
-
 |
The Heritage Club took a one-day trip in April to explore interesting and unusual sights in and around Sioux City, Iowa. The first stop was the impressive Queen of Peace Shrine and Trinity Heights to see The Queen of Peace statue and life-size wood carving of the Last Supper. A lunch stop was made on the way to Sutherland, Iowa, home of Bogenrief Studios. The Bogenriefs started restoring antique, stained glass windows in 1978 and have grown from a small house in Seney, Iowa, to a studio with a national reputation for exquisite works of art in stained and beveled glass. Then, a mouth-watering stop awaited in LeMars, Iowa -- Ice Cream Capital of the World. The Blue Bunny Visitor’s Center chronicles the history of this famous ice cream maker. It’ll was a great way to end a fun day of touring with Heritage Club friends. |
